Thanks to the flat terrain and short distances, many locations within the city can be connected on foot, while public transport makes it easier to reach arenas, sports facilities and more distant neighbourhoods.
Before or after an event, it is worth walking through Pernštýnské náměstí, the historic heart of the city surrounded by old townhouses, and passing through Zelená brána, one of Pardubice's most recognisable landmarks. A few minutes farther away is Pardubice Castle, a Renaissance complex with ramparts and museum attractions, while Příhrádek connects the castle with the streets of the old city centre. For a different view of Pardubice, the Automatické mlýny complex beside the Chrudimka River is an interesting choice and is now an important cultural space featuring modern architecture. Pardubice lies at the confluence of the Elbe and Chrudimka rivers, making the riverside paths a good choice for a quieter part of the day before a concert, match or journey home. The combination of events, straightforward transport and the historic centre makes the city suitable for visitors who want to combine their tickets with a complete city experience.
