Bauhaus Dessau is one of the defining works of modern architecture and a venue whose importance is not measured by the conventional capacity of a large hall. Designed by Walter Gropius and completed in 1926 as the home of the Bauhaus school, the building is instantly recognizable for its combination of glass, steel and concrete, particularly the glazed curtain wall of the workshop wing.
